Esperienza con Dell SAS 5/iR Adapter

Ciao ragazzi , ho appena ricevuto il mio serverino per i test in ufficio , un Dell PE SC 440 Dual core Xeon , che monta un controller raid SAS 5/iR Adapter , ed ha due dischi sata da 250 Giga.

Premesso cio , vorrei configurali in raid 1 , ma non ci ho capito una mazza , ho installato debian etch e vede tutte le periferiche ,

Quindi senmbra vederlo.... ma ora non so cdove sbattere la capoccia per configurarlo a dovere !!


Voi avete qualche dritta da darmi , per non rischiare di distruggerlo appena arrivato?

In quest'ultimo fra l'altro si dice che il raid è praticamente fatto in software (beh in reatà dice che ci sono alcuni chipset in più, ma non ho capito a cosa servono). Se è vero ti consiglio di lasciar perdere il raid con il sas 5/iR e di farlo fare a Debian.

ho avuto modo di usare un raid hw su un dell 840, non sapevo fosse software sui sas

che caduta in basso con questo genere di raid...

comunque i link di gmc sono validissimi
