Compilare kernel senza initrd

Ciao,
finalmente con l’aiuto delle guide e del forum sono riuscito nell\'intento di ricompilare il kernel con tanto di headers, che mi hanno finalmente permesso di installare i driver nVidia. Sono contento, è la prima volta che riesco ricompilare un kernel con successo
Ho cominciato con una cosa semplice semplice in verità, in quanto ho semplicemente preso la vecchia configurazione e cambiato solamente la cpu in base al mio sistema.

Tutto bene insomma se non fosse che ora (si sa l’appetito vien mangiando ) vorrei ricompilare il tutto senza usare l’initrd. Nelle varie guide ho letto che non è necessario se si sceglie di compilare il kernel con all’interno il supporto ai vari filesystem necessari al boot.

Ora la mia domanda è questa:
Per escludere l’uso dell’initrd basta che io scelga di compilare nel kernel i moduli interessati o devo anche specificare da qualche parte nella configurazione che non intendo utilizzare nessun initrd?

Devi mettere nel kernel NON come moduli
ma in forma statica (pena un kernel panic)
il supporto per la tua scheda madre
e per il file system di /
Non serve precisare altro.
Aggiungo che, visto che non parliamo di precompilati,
evitar el\'initrd è sempre meglio
(a meno che tu non vogli un boot splash grafico,
ma sono cose senza cui si sopravvive...)

...con attivare il supporto del fs \\ intendi dire attivare il supporto al tipo di fs che contiene la partizione di boot?

Inoltre con supporto alla motherboard intendi il Chipset?

Devo anche attivare nel kernel il supporto dei vari controller IDE/SATA oppure non ce ne bisogno?
