Ho un server samba non riesco a vedere le condivisioni dagli altri computer. Se digito l'indirizzo completo smb://.../desktop vedo tutto ma dalla rete non riesco a visualizzare. Il mio file smb.conf è
[global]
allow hosts = 192.168.1.0/24
workgroup = WORKGROUP
server string = d*******
create mask = 0777
printcap = cups

wins support = yes

quanti computer hai ? Se provi a dare un bel smbclient -L INDIRIZZO_IP del computer che vuoi vedere, cosa ti dice?

Se provo ad accedere da un client windows invece mi chiede una password, ma non saprei proprio che password inserire (nè ho provate un po' ma non va nessuna)

Il computer windows fa parte come wokrgroup di "workgroup"?
Hai impostato dns alternativi (tipo opendns) sul server?

Sul file di configurazione di samba la stringa "security" è imposta a user o share? Un'altra cosa prova a lanciare il comando testparm e dimmi cosa ti dice.
Ps.: browsable e guest su "global" puoi eliminarli

All'interno del server samba lancia un terminale e digita testparm da root..oppure puoi seguire il suggerimento di Pmate

Questo warning si riferisce al tuo share laserjet_1200 (più lungo di 12 caratteri). Io, intanto, rinominerei con un nome più corto ad es. ljet_1200. Per caso hai settato wins support = Yes
in questo caso dovresti andare a modificare /etc/nsswitch.conf |

Perchè se il server Samba è stato configurato con il supporto a wins ("wins support=yes"), quest'ultimo risolve i nomi di tutti quegli hosts che non sono elencati in /etc/hosts o in /etc/resolv.conf # vim /etc/nsswitch.conf
hosts: files dns wins
Sistemando così /etc/nsswitch.conf si permette al sistema di effettuare una query al wins server per la risoluzione dei nomi (in locale). Magari è questo che impedisce la risoluzione dei nomi nella lan di rudd. Ciauz |
