ci sono dei processi che non vorrei avere accesi ad esempio quelli come kjournald (all'inizio tra []), getty (che non so cosa sia, quello di gnome x gli screensavers, e poi vorrei sapere se il numero di processi che ho ora è alto o è normale?

Sai almeno cosa fanno i processi che "non vuoi accesi"?

Getty è la console testuale, i processi tra [] sono stati lanciati da initi con privilegi root e sono "di sistema".
kjournald è un thread del kernel linux che si occupa di gestire i filesystem journaled (da qui il nome), quindi direi che DEVE girare se hai un file system con questa caratteristica.

Un po' puoi eliminare, ma dipende da cosa usi, tipo:
* vedo un mount.nfs, usi NFS? se non lo usi toglilo;
* exim4 si puo' anche togliere se usi il pc solo come desktop
* fam non è cosi' indispensabile
* puoi ridurre qualche getty modificando /etc/inittab (ATTENZIONE!! Leggi bene la documentazione prima di fare troppe modifiche!!)

Il non corretto funzionamento non dovrebbe dipendere dal numero di processi attivi se hai abbastanza risorse.
Se hai abbastanza risorse, controlla l'hw! Ram prima e cpu in secondo.

Se non hai risorse, lascia stare lo disattivare piccoli servizi e spegni gnome!
